What does the Justice Tarot card mean?
You’re a good person. You do everything right. You give unconditionally.
And yet, sometimes life feels very unfair, doesn’t it?
Do you ever have those times when you feel undervalued, or that you’re not being rewarded for your good deeds and intentions?
Perhaps someone has hurt you?
Events outside of you can have a negative impact on your life. Sometimes the decisions and actions of others can cause us considerable pain.
People Get The Justice Card Wrong
When the Justice card shows up in a reading, you might feel a bit excited! Finally… justice will be served!
But do you want justice or revenge?
Justice isn’t about the universe dishing out punishments to those who have hurt you or taken from you. Not in the Tarot, anyway.
The Justice Tarot Card Is Showing You It’s Time To Self-Reflect
Often, negative emotions can cloud our thinking. Which makes it:
Difficult to see things from the other person’s point of view
Difficult to see the bigger picture
Difficult to make good decisions
The Justice card shows a seated figure holding the sword of truth in one hand and a set of balancing scales in the other.
The scales are also found in ancient Egyptian mythology. They represent the goddess of balance Ma’at. Legend says that when a person passed to the other side, Ma’at would weigh their heart against a feather. If their heart was lighter than a feather, it meant that they had lived a balanced life based on principles of fairness.
You might not like this, but…
It can be very difficult to understand why someone would act in a certain way towards you.
The truth is, you will never really know what drove them to do what they did, what their karma is or what lessons they are here to learn.
The Justice Tarot Card Shows The Universe Is Coming Back Into Balance
That balance may not have the outcome you would personally like to see. But you have the power to become balanced within yourself.
It’s easy for a judge to sit there in court and be impartial, but it's difficult to do it for ourselves, particularly in challenging situations.
The Justice card asks you to review a troubling situation in an unbiased way. It asks that you be fair to all involved, letting go of the desire for personal gain.
To do this, you will need to develop a strong sense of discernment…
Third eye meditations help you to think clearly and move all ‘illusions’ out of the way
Heart chakra meditations help you cultivate more compassion for others and move away from negative or emotional decision-making
You can also journal on the questions below. These will help you cultivate an attitude of fairness that you can embody permanently.
Do you think about the impact on others when you make a decision?
Have you ever tipped the scales away from fairness?
Is it possible for everyone involved in the situation to have a balanced, fair outcome?
The Justice card is unique in that it offers you the opportunity to become a wiser, more compassionate person.
The spiritual journey is not always easy. Sometimes we have to dig deep and look at things within us that we don’t want to see. But the spiritual journey is the reason we are all here.
