How Mediums Create Sacred Space (And Why)
You might have heard of the term ‘sacred space’ before. If you’re new to psychic development, you might be wondering what it means.
Working psychically means stepping your energy up a gear, with intention, frequency and ritual.
This is because spirit operates at a higher frequency than us - the frequency of unconditional love.
Although we all feel love, most of us can hand-on-heart say that we don’t feel those feelings all of the time. For the most part, unconditional love is the natural state for loved ones in spirit, angels and spirit guides.
Being human is a hard job. We have stress, we have traumas, we have difficult decisions to make and heavy lessons to learn. It can be quite hard to jump from our day-to-day emotions into the higher frequencies required to communicate with spirit as a medium.
Creating A Sacred Space
For me, there are two types of sacred space:
Sacred space inside
Sacred space outside
As a medium, you are literally the conduit for high-frequency energy and information to flow through.
If you are feeling stressed out, fearful or distracted, guess what…. You’re not going to be receiving very much from the spirit world at all!
Treat Your Body And Mind As A Sacred Space
Eat good food, spend plenty of time in nature, cleanse your energy field regularly, and most importantly, clear your mind with a regular meditation practice.
If you see yourself as a sacred temple your connection to spirit will grow stronger. This is because your energy is much more aligned with theirs when you ‘raise your vibration’.
Creating A Sacred Space In Your Home
Creating a sacred space externally is also a very important aspect of working with spirit. You can think of it as an area where you feel safe, comfortable and energetically supported.
It’s typically a place in your physical environment that you’ve put some time (and love) into making it feel special.
A Sacred Space Is Somewhere You Will Use Every Day To:
Clear your mind
Reflect on your growth
Set intentions for healing
Practice your psychic development skills
Communicate with spirit guides and others in spirit
A sacred space is a container which separates your daily life from your spiritual life. It keeps the low vibes out and the high vibes in.
Here Are My Top Tips for Creating A Sacred Space for Mediumship:
Choose a place where you will be the least distracted by other people, outside noise, televisions etc!
Ensure the area you choose has a nice feel to it. Make sure you are comfortable there, and it’s easy to relax.
It's a good idea to ensure that this space is well-lit (even if that’s with candles)
Use a small table, a cupboard or even an upturned box to place symbolic spiritual objects upon. Make sure these are sacred to you - it’s your sacred space. These will increase your focus and raise the vibration of your sacred space to help you connect with spirit guides and loved ones. The objects in your sacred space can be crystals, flowers, images of angels or spiritual figures.
It’s important to cleanse your sacred space regularly - always before and after each session. You can use sage to smudge the area, use sound (such as a singing bowl), or sprinkle salt water around the area.
Set an intention for how the sacred space will be used, e.g. “ This space is a sanctuary for healing and connection with spirit. Only energies of the highest good are welcome here.”
The more you learn about mediumship, and the more you practise and use your sacred space, the more powerful it will become. You’ll soon be able to anchor in with the higher energies of spirit quickly and effectively.
