When Psychic Protection Exercises Don’t Work (And What To Do About It)

If you’re a working psychic, no doubt you’ll be using psychic protection exercises on a daily basis.


I have a couple of powerful techniques that I teach my students. 


Without using psychic protection exercises, you’ll find yourself very drained (particularly if you're doing lots of readings) and your energy will be open to all sorts of information that isn’t very useful. 


To put it bluntly, your system will be overloaded.


Do Psychic Protection Exercises Work?


I’m not saying you should stop using psychic protection, quite the opposite actually. But there are times when it feels like the psychic protection practices you are using are actually ineffective.


This isn’t really true, psychic protection does a lot of good. The problem is that there are times in life when the collective energy on the planet is overly negative, overwhelmed and incredibly stressed. 


As a sensitive person, you’ll no doubt be able to feel collective energy, along with the energy from individuals around you and energy from spirit.


Sometimes you’ll feel that despite your best efforts, your positive outlook and your dedication to serve others, you're wading through mud and you're not ‘in flow’. 


When Is Psychic Protection Ineffective?


The world’s events affect us all. War, political unrest and the mistreatment of our fellow humans create all sorts of emotions within us. Sadness, frustration, apathy and a feeling like our own safety could at some point be compromised. 


Our nervous systems and our energetic systems are not designed to withstand the amount of stress put on us by world news and social media. 


Never before in history have we been bombarded with so much negativity, and been left to feel so powerless. Even children are being adversely affected - they may not be so aware of the world's events, but they are very energetically aware. 


At the time of writing this, the effect of this collective overwhelm has been much more noticeable.


Many of my students have discussed this with me. They feel like they have no energy, and no matter what they do, things keep going wrong for them, whether that’s poor health, financial issues or just not being able to move forward easily towards their goals. 


I do believe this will pass. Energy never stays the same. It ebbs and flows. It cannot stay in the same state forever, that’s just the nature of energy. It’s always changing from one thing to another.


Here’s my checklist to help you cope, and ride out the collective wave of negativity and worry:


  • As empaths, it’s normal to feel for those people in the world that are suffering. You can contribute to their well-being by helping charities that can help support them. You can send them healing wishes. Do something proactive to help instead of worrying.


  • Get rid of the news! Ok, this might be an impossible feat, but you can certainly limit your exposure to it. Get rid of news apps and anything on your phone determined to send negativity your way. If you must stay up to date with the news, limit this as much as possible. Perhaps you could allocate a 10-minute time slot to check in every day?


  • Cut down on your social media time. Only follow accounts that are helpful to you and make you feel good (like mine!). The rest stresses you out and appeals to your emotions and fears. Release the need to engage with negative social media channels. 


  • Focus on your spiritual and personal growth. Become your best self, despite what’s going on around you. This helps you to see what’s real in the world, and what’s important. Better to focus your energy on your highest good, than what the government and banks are doing!


  • Keep up your psychic protection exercises. Although it’s hard to believe they are helping in times like this… they are still doing a lot of good.



What’s The Best Psychic Protection Exercise?


The best one I’ve found is the White Light exercise. Creating a field of clear, pure, high-frequency energy around you stops a lot of negative energy from hitting your aura. It tunes you up to work with energy and spirit. 


How Can We Change The Collective Energy?


Believe it or not, there is a scientific way of changing collective energy. There are a group of scientists and engineers researching this. It’s called the Global Consciousness Project. 


They discovered that when human consciousness is focused on one thing, it can change reality. In their experiments, they use random number generators and have proven that people’s intentions can affect the numbers generated. 


What Does This Have To Do With Psychic Protection?


Ever heard of the Maharishi Effect?


This is a phenomenon, where groups of people meditating can actually bring down crime rates and measurably improve the quality of life for people in that area. Proof we are all connected by a unifying field of consciousness. 


You can put this into practice by meditating daily and joining with groups of people to open your hearts and send out love and compassion to the world. 


The research suggests that the more people that do this, the bigger the effect will be. And perhaps we can change the collective energy to remove overwhelm and get back in flow.
