WHAT DO THE TWOS MEAN IN TAROT?

Updated: 7 days ago

Changing direction often involves making a lot of choices.  Sometimes, these choices are easy to make, and sometimes they are a little tricky. For the tricky choices, looking at the facts, the big picture and allowing space for your intuition to speak to you is the best way forward.

IF A 2 COMES UP IN A TAROT READING…

A Two, in any suit, can mean that you’ve got to make a decision. But luckily, it’s not a huge decision, as the Twos sit in the Minor Arcana.

Often, small decisions lead to small steps forward, offering you a planned, stable progression towards your goals. Perfect! Not everything has to be dramatic!

When a Two comes up in a card spread for me, I always reflect on similar situations I’ve been through in my own life, and the lives of clients I’ve read for in the past. This helps me to bring context to the reading and inform how I’ll describe the card to the person sitting in front of me.

Even if their situation is radically different, applying Tarot knowledge to my own experiences helps a great deal in any reading situation.

LET’S SEE WHAT THE TWOS MEAN IN TAROT

A Two is generally positive but indicates minor adjustments should be made to create better outcomes.

TWO OF SWORDS TAROT MEANING

If you see the Two of Swords in a card spread, it shows a change has to occur in the mind of your client. Perhaps they can’t decide between two things, perhaps they have reached a stalemate, or perhaps they are generally feeling indecisive. By cleaning up any inner conflict, your client will create space to see the way forward.

A good coaching question for this card would be:

“ How can I separate the facts from my limiting thoughts?”

TWO OF WANDS TAROT MEANING

In a similar vein, the Two of Wands is also about decisions but tends to be more focused on energy as opposed to thoughts. Perhaps your client needs to make some plans and then some progress will follow.

A good coaching question for this card would be:

“ Where am I focusing my energy right now, Vs where should I be focusing it?”

TWO OF CUPS TAROT MEANING

As you know, the Cups relate to emotions and matters of the heart. Perhaps your client’s choices will lead to a new partnership, in business, love or even a meaningful friendship.

Your client should know that their new decision will attract the things they want to them, or bring closeness with another.

A good coaching question for this card would be:

“Which would my heart choose?”

TWO OF PENTACLES TAROT MEANING

Relating to the physical world and material things, the Two of Pentacles shows your client that a decision needs to be made to make their manifestations show up. Perhaps they need to manage their time better or find balance in another area of their life first, or perhaps they need to be a bit more adaptable to become physically ‘unstuck’.

A good coaching question would be:

“What options do I have to physically bring my goals closer to completion?”

The cards will open space for your client

When you are doing readings for clients, remember that the card meanings are not absolute.

See how the other cards in the spread will inform the changes needed, and make sure you pay attention to your intuition… the most important thing of all!

I hope you are enjoying your Tarot journey.
