WHAT DO THE TENS MEAN IN TAROT?

What a relief!

There’s nothing better than putting time and effort into something and seeing it complete. And that’s exactly what the Tens are all about.

In the Tarot, the Tens are a sign of completion - one stage of your life has finished for good. It’s done and dusted. It’s put away, never to be seen again… you’re now waiting for The Fool to show up again.

IF A TEN TAROT CARD SHOWS UP IN A READING...

If any of the Ten cards show up in a Tarot reading for yourself, or for a client, it’s a good idea to check in and ask:

  • What feels complete now?

  • What did I learn from the experience?

  • What wisdom can I take with me on the next spiral of my journey?

The Tens show you that whatever has been going on, good or bad, is now over, and you can free yourself completely to move forward.

Let’s look at the suit-specific meanings of the Tens:

TEN OF CUPS TAROT MEANING

Wow. I bet you’re feeling good if this shows up. The Ten of Cups signifies a positive emotional state. You’re happy. You’re aligned with your inner self. Your relationships, home, and heart-based activities are thriving.

A good coaching question would be:

Now that my cup is full, how can I serve others?

TEN OF PENTACLES TAROT MEANING

Because the Pentacles are all about the physical world, and often money, the Ten of Pentacles may be showing that you are in for a treat! Perhaps you’ll be getting a bonus at work. Perhaps you're due some inheritance. Perhaps you’re about to get a million-dollar business idea! The Ten of Pentacles may not always be about money struggles being overcome, though- instead, it can show that something has shifted in your physical world and you’re ready to create something new, such as a body of work, or even a legacy.

A good coaching question would be:

What should I channel my physical energy into to better this world?

TEN OF SWORDS TAROT MEANING

Something has got to go. The Ten of Swords represents something falling away, or even a failure that sets you up for something better in the long run. Usually, this is a mental shift that needs to take place. Is it time for an old, negative mindset to fall away?

A good coaching question would be:

How can I use this ending to put me on a truer path?

TEN OF WANDS TAROT MEANING

The spiritual path can feel like a big responsibility sometimes. If the Ten of Wands shows up, you may be struggling under the weight of the responsibility or hard work you’re putting in. It doesn’t need to be that way. The Ten of Wands is a permission slip to let go of that and use your energy to align more with your goals.

A good coaching question may be:

Where am I feeling responsibility that is not mine?

Remember, always use the coaching questions sensitively with clients. The aim is to empower them to come up with the answers already inside of them.
