If you’ve been following this email series from the beginning, you’ll know that we’ve nearly covered all of the traditional card meanings.
Remember that these meanings are not absolute, and I strongly believe that they should be used to trigger your intuition, not restrict it.
Today, we’ll be looking at The Queens in Tarot.
SO, WHAT DO THE QUEENS MEAN IN A TAROT READING?
I like to think of the Queen as a guiding force - one full of patience, compassion and wisdom.
She shares some qualities with The Empress.
But of course, as is the case most of the time with the Tarot, we are always able to find these qualities. Even when we seek the help and reassurance of others with these qualities, they can often help us bring out these aspects within ourselves.
The Queen might be someone that you would go to for advice. She’s got experience, status and a lifetime of wisdom.

So let’s look at the suit-specific meanings, shall we?
THE QUEEN OF CUPS MEANING
The Queen of Cups is here to bring you compassion and comfort. Sometimes, if you are facing a big problem in life, it’s hard to feel calm. Tune into her guidance as she asks you to look within and use your higher spiritual qualities to release any emotional turbulence you may be feeling.
A good coaching question would be:
“If things aren’t going my way right now, how can I have patience and find comfort in the present moment?”
THE QUEEN OF PENTACLES MEANING
The Queen of Pentacles helps nurture us in the physical world. Sometimes the answer to our problems is to address our physical environment on a practical level first: our finances, our home, our work-life balance. Often, this shifts our energy enough for the things we need to appear.
A good coaching question would be:
“How have I been neglecting myself on a practical level, and how can I correct this?”
THE QUEEN OF SWORDS MEANING
The Queen of Swords represents the energy of clarity. She tells us it’s time to address our perception. Perhaps you’ve fallen into a victim mindset? Perhaps you’re waiting around for something outside of you to change? Perhaps you’ve become overwhelmed with negative thoughts, and without realising it, you’ve slipped into hopelessness?
Know that as a Queen, she is a leader, and she is inviting you to become the same.
A slight shift in perception, attitude or belief can make all the difference.
A good coaching question would be:
“Where am I not seeing thighs as they really are?”
THE QUEEN OF WANDS MEANING
The Queen of Wands is your spiritual best friend. She is confident, warm and determined… in a purpose-led, compassionate way. Whatever you are facing, she wants you to know that with a little patience, you can turn things around.
As the Wands are spiritual cards, the Queen wants you to find the spiritual qualities within yourself. This is how you will develop, live your truth and become the leader of your own life.
A good coaching question would be:
“What spiritual qualities can I embody which will lead me towards happiness and fulfilment?”
