WHAT DO THE ACES MEAN IN TAROT?

Over the next few blog posts, I’ll be sharing information about the Minor Arcana cards. Although you can actually do Tarot readings with the Major Arcana cards alone, the Minor Arcana can support the concepts the Major Arcana bring up. 

They also show less ‘dramatic’ events and decisions to be made.

The Minor Arcana is made up of four suits:

• Swords relate to thoughts and mental constructs

• Wands relate to spirit, higher wisdom and all things ethereal

• Cups relate to emotions, creativity and the heart’s wisdom

• Pentacles relate to the physical world, money and security

As you read this, try to think about how these themes relate to your own life… this will help you give deeper readings to clients. 

IN THE TAROT, THE ACES ARE ALL ABOUT NEW IDEAS AND CONCEPTS

When an Ace shows up in a reading, it’s not necessarily saying a new beginning is on the horizon, but perhaps a new way of ‘being’ that will lead you towards a new path, or a new idea you could develop that will lead to happiness. 

See an Ace? You might have a ‘lightbulb moment’!

ACE OF SWORDS TAROT MEANING

If the Ace of Swords shows up it could mean that you are going to change your mind about something, or you're ready to change your thinking patterns or mental concepts about the world. 

A good coaching question for this card would be:

“What new beliefs or thought patterns would be helpful to me?”

ACE OF WANDS TAROT MEANING

If the Ace of Wands shows up, it’s telling you about the subtle energetic realms. It could also be showing you that it’s time to access some inner wisdom that will change how you view yourself, or perhaps you're about to have some clarity about your spiritual path.

A good coaching question for this card would be:

“What new spiritual concepts could I embrace for my own growth?”

ACE OF CUPS TAROT MEANING

If the Ace of Cups shows up it might indicate a change of heart. This card might be showing you that your heart is open to new ideas or it’s time to let go of old, heavy emotions and replace them with self-love and compassion.

A good coaching question would be:

“What is my heart trying to tell me?”

ACE OF PENTACLES TAROT MEANING

If the Ace of Pentacles shows up, it's telling you your finances or the physical world could shift with a new idea that you implement. Perhaps this new idea will plant some seeds for growth.

A good coaching question would be:

“What new idea or strategy could change my finances or physical surroundings?”

Remember that the meanings of the cards are also influenced by the other cards that show up in your spread.
