The Hanged Man Tarot Card Meaning

What does The Hanged Man Tarot card mean?

In the world of tarot, we often talk about The Fool’s journey.

The Fool is actually the hero (that’s you), and you go through trials and tribulations, which are ‘chapters’ in your life.

The energy of these chapters is represented by the Major Arcana cards.

The lessons learnt along the way are valuable and help you reach the final goal of fulfilment.

The Hanged Man Tarot Card Represents A Big Lesson

You have to let go of everything and surrender. When The Hanged Man shows up in a reading, you have to release, take a pause and surrender.

This can feel like you’re making a sacrifice and even like all your past efforts have been wasted.

The Hanged Man Tarot Card Teaches The Lesson Of Surrender

The universe is asking you to release control of the situation and discover a new, alternative perspective on things.

It sounds scary, but this is how you advance your journey and create things that are better than you could have imagined.

Although it’s important to keep planning your goals and taking intuitive action, when The Hanged Man appears something bigger is going on.

Our minds are no match for the infinite possibilities the universe can bring when we surrender to it.

The Hanged Man Tarot Card Asks You To See A Different Point Of View

Sometimes we obsess about the destination a little too much.

It can be difficult for the mind to switch off, particularly if we want something badly. When you trust that what is happening is for your highest good and give control back to the universe, you’ll find a sense of tranquillity and expansion.

Time to get serious

The Hanged Man wants you to ask yourself some serious questions. These might bring up a lot of fear…

It can be useful to witness that fear and engage in some self-enquiry. Ask yourself where that fear is really coming from, or what you’re really afraid of.

Out-of-the-box thinking

Grab your journal, take some deep breaths and explore these Transformational Tarot coaching questions.:

  • What is your relationship with control over situations?

  • Do you feel it is easy to let go of control?

  • What does surrender mean to you? Does it bring up any fear?

  • Have you ever been in a situation where surrendering was a better option than resisting?

  • What is your resistance pattern?

Once you’ve done this, bring your situation to mind and brainstorm how you could ‘view’ it differently.

This is an interesting process to explore and will help you clear blocks in many areas of your life.
