The Chariot Tarot Card Meaning

What does The Chariot Tarot card mean?

Have you ever seen one of those old movies with someone driving a chariot? If so, you’ll know they are very exciting scenes.

Chariots were used in public games and festivals in the ancient world.

The Chariot Tarot Card Represents Moving Forward

Because it’s a Major Arcana card, it shows a powerful movement forward.

But this is what people get wrong about The Chariot card

It’s not about the chariot moving, it’s about the charioteer.

That’s you!

The goal of the charioteer is to win the race. They have studied the lay of the land intensely, watching for potential pitfalls and roadblocks.

They sit poised, vigilant, their mind set on their end goal.

The Chariot Tarot Card Is Not A Card Of Fate

It’s a card of valiant action.

If you have The Chariot card in a reading, it’s time to harness your determination and willpower to charge towards your most meaningful goal.

To put all that power into moving forward, your goal should be big. Choose something outside of your comfort zone… something that will truly move your life forward.

Ask yourself this:

“What goal ignites your passion and keeps you awake at night?”

The Chariot asks you to fiercely engage with your desired outcome and overcome the twists and turns on the way.

With all that power behind you, this card shows you it won’t be long before you reach your goal.

If The Chariot comes up in a reading, I recommend journaling on the following questions:

  • What obstacles are you determined to overcome to achieve your goals?

  • Are these obstacles internal or external?

  • Are the obstacles daunting? If so, why?

  • Have you inadvertently created your own obstacles?

Once you’ve gathered this very useful information from your subconscious, it’s time to flesh out an action plan.

  1. Write down the big milestones you need to reach on your way toward victory

  2. Break these down into actionable ‘tasks’

  3. Put them into a timeframe - long enough to complete them realistically, but short enough to push you

  4. Celebrate completing each task as a victory!

Remember when you work with my method of Transformational Tarot and use the cards as a coaching tool, you will put the power in your own hands to move forward with confidence, courage and conviction.
