One thing I cover a lot in my courses and at my live events is how to speak with spirit. I teach my students how to fine-tune their intuition, set up sacred space and communicate with subtle realms.
But there’s another aspect to this and a question you may have even asked yourself…
What does spirit say back?
I’m sure you have already received some very exciting messages from spirit. I bet there are other people are walking around the planet today who have had messages from spirit and not even realised. That hunch. That dream. That strange coincidence.
It’s all very well picking up on the messages, but what happens if you can’t interpret them… or worse, you are doing a reading for someone and you interpret the messages from spirit in completely the wrong way!
How Does Spirit Communicate?
First of all, if you’re hearing scary messages or seeing scary things, it’s probably not spirit talking to you. Messages from spirit tend to be uplifting, loving, evidential and often focused on helping you with the life lessons you face on your own spiritual journey.
Spirit communicates via energy. That energy is then translated by the medium. The spirit guide and the medium need to meet halfway. Spirit lowers its energetic frequency and the medium raises theirs.
The more the medium can raise their energy, the less likely they’ll be influenced by their own beliefs, prejudices and mindsets.
There Are 4 Main Ways Spirit Talks to Mediums
Spirit Communicates Via Signs And Symbols
Spirit guides and loved ones who have passed away will often use symbols. These symbols can come from a language you have built up with your spirit guides over time, or they can mean something personally to the medium or the client.
Spirit Communicates Via Mental Impressions
Ever heard someone use the term ‘download’? This is a feeling of energetic information being downloaded to the medium. Information can also come through as thoughts, or a sense of ‘knowingness’ (claircognisance).
Spirit Communicates Via Emotions And Sensations
A spirit can convey its personality, or physical experience on Earth through feelings. Often if a spirit passed over because they had a heart attack, the medium’s chest may feel a little tight during the reading (this is nothing to worry about!).
Many mediums report similar experiences. Spirit can also share feelings of love or happiness, which may feel like a wave sweeping through you.
Spirit Communicates Via Visual And Auditory Cues
When communicating with those in spirit, you may receive an image, or even specific words and phrases. Perhaps they will show you a scene from a memory which has meaning to them.
They might show you an object which meant a lot to them in their lifetime, like a special watch. They might have had a funny saying when they were alive that means something to your client.
My top tips when receiving messages from spirit are - don’t jump to conclusions when spirit shows you something and make sure you build a strong relationship with your spirit guides, as they’ll often help you out if you get stuck.
Building a strong relationship with spirit is paramount and should be something you consistently work on. Complacent mediums don’t do so well!
